Syllabus

In this segment, you will be relied upon to peruse passages of around 450 words each. The passages may identify with truth circumstances or situations including legal issue, public policy questions or moral philosophical enquiries. You won't need any earlier information on law. You will profit by an overall familiarity with contemporary lawful and good issues to more readily apply general standards or suggestions to the given actuality situations. However, an extensive preparatory phase is imperative for a serious applicant.

Every entry would be trailed by a progression of questions that will expect you to:

  • Identify and infer the rules and principles set out in the passage;

  • Apply such rules and principles to various fact situations; and

  • Understand how changes to the rules or principles may alter their application to various fact situations.

The abovementioned questions will be based on mainly four sections with a chance of a fifth miscellaneous section being added as the consortium deems it fit:

  1. Torts

  • Negligence

  • Trespass

  • Nuisance

  • Vicarious, Strict and Absolute Liability …. etc.

  1. Criminal Law

  • Relevant sections of IPC like defamation, theft, etc.

  1. Constitutional Law

  2. Civil Law & Law of Contracts

  3. Any existing Legal issue of importance/any important case law or recent decision by the Higher Courts/act passed by the Parliament/any amendments to existing laws etc. (Linked with Current affairs; may contain questions from virtually any field of law!)
